Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs are the backbone of Brunei Darussalam's domestic economy, accounting for over 93% of the private sector businesses that employs the majority of the nation's workforce. With more than 6,400 active MSMEs, these enterprises are central to the country's economic diversification agenda. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister Of Finance And Economy underlined the matter at the Second Msme Roundtable Series on Manpower and Workforce Challenges. The discussion was held on 8th December afternoon at a hotel in Kiulap. According to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, as Chairman Of Brunei Economic Development Board, challenges facing MSMEs are multifaceted that cannot be addressed by the Government alone; it requires greater engagement and active participation between government agencies, companies and educational institutions.

The dialogue brought together policymakers, industry stakeholders, and business leaders to exchange perspectives, identify workforce-related challenges impacting MSME operations, and align efforts to strengthen Brunei's labour ecosystem in support of long-term private sector future growth towards supporting Wawasan Brunei 2035's economic goals.
